Ruston High School will host eighth grade parent nights on Tuesday, March 16th at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 18th at 6:00 p.m. in the RHS auditorium. You are encouraged to attend one of these nights for information about classes for ninth grade. Face masks will be required and these meetings are for parents/guardians. Students are encouraged to stay home due to capacity limits. RJHS Prospective Student Tours 2021: All student tours will take place after school beginning at 3:45 PM. Parents and students will be required to wear a mask and be temperature scanned. Students, if you are interested in joining the National Junior Honor Society, packets can be picked up in the front office. The minimum grade point average for consideration for admission is a 3.0. Completed packets are due by Tuesday, February 9th. 7th graders can turn their packets into Mrs. Rogers, room 127, and 8th graders can turn their packets into Mrs. Waits, room 117. Lincoln Parish Schools will be closed Monday, January 11, due to winter weather conditions. Student assignments can be found on Google Classroom, or some were sent home by teachers on Friday. Thursday, October 29 is a PBIS Free Dress Day for students who had outstanding behavior for the 1st 9 weeks. To qualify students could not have any discipline referrals and less than 2 discipline infractions. Discipline infractions range from talking in class, tardies and all things in between that are minor. 94% of our students qualified. We’re also adding hats as an additional item students will be able to wear in class tomorrow. Awesome job, Bearkits!

RJHS Virtual Learning Update October 2020: Starting 10/19/20, Ruston Jr. High School will use Edgenuity as the platform for Virtual Students. Student attendance is taken from the time spent actively working on assignments. Just a reminder that all students will return to face to face instruction 5 days a week beginning tomorrow (10/19) if you have not elected to remain virtual. There will be no more A/B schedule. Masks must still be worn at all times and the RJHS uniform dress code will be enforced. We look forward to having everyone back on campus. Go Bearkits!

Parents, our football game today vs. Barton Middle School (El Dorado, AR) will be played at RHS. 7th grade will start at 5:30pm with 8th grade playing immediately after. Masks will be required and we will use the visitors' side for entry. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Also, soccer tryouts will be held on Friday, October 2 from 3:45-5:00 here at RJHS. This will be for any 6th-8th grade student of IAL, RJHS, or AEP.

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Program | Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services Louisiana Reopens 2019-2020 P-EBT Application for Families Who Did Not Apply in May and June Families Who Received P-EBT during the May-June Application Period are NOT Eligible The P-EBT program provides help buying groceries for the families of children who were receiving free and reduced-price meals at school last school year. These one-time benefits are $285 per eligible child. This covers 50 school days missed from statewide school closures during the pandemic. Some parents became eligible for free and reduced lunch in May 2020. They would receive $91.20 per eligible child, which covers the cost of meals for 16 school days in May. The initial PEBT application period closed on June 15, 2020, and served 407,800 children. This second application period is aimed at the 264,111 children who qualified but did not receive PEBT the first time. http://www.dcfs.louisiana.gov/page/pebt-program All students in LP are eligible for free breakfast and lunch during school days until December 31, 2020 or money runs out.
