Student handbooks were sent home the first week of school. On the last page of the handbook a parent and student signature is required. This form should have been returned to your child's homeroom teacher. If you have any additional questions about what is allowed, please call the Ruston Junior HS office at 251-1601. Parents, please remember to keep all receipts in case an item of clothing is not acceptable.

SHIRTS

Short or long sleeve knit polo shirt (no cap sleeves) in 100% cotton or poly/cotton
Colors:  White, Red, or Black
*A crew neck T-shirt may be worn under uniform shirts, but must be white or the same color as the polo shirt.
*All shirts must be tucked in where the belt is visible (360 degrees) at all times.
*No company logos or emblems are allowed except Ruston Junior HS endorsed logos purchased through the school.

PANTS/SHORTS

Pants/trousers with belt loops
Shorts - Must be no shorter than two inches above the kneecap and must be the same length in the back as the front.
Cotton or Cotton/Polyester Twill  (No knit rayon, denim, etc.)
Color:  Tan, Khaki, or Black (Black pants cannot be worn with black shirts.)
*Black or brown belts with a standard buckle are required.
*Pants must be worn at the waist and cannot drag the floor.
*No company logos or emblems are allowed.

SKIRTS

Pleated uniform skirt
Cotton/Polyester Twill
Color: Tan, Khaki, Black and Plaid
*Skirts must be worn at the waist and may be no shorter than the top of the knee.
*Belt required if skirt has belt loops.

SWEATSHIRTS

Crew neck long sleeved sweatshirt with no pockets or hood.
Color:  White, Red, Black or approved official Ruston Junior HS sweatshirt.
*A polo shirt may be worn under the sweatshirt, but must be red, white, or black.
*No company logos or emblems are allowed.

COATS

Long-sleeved jackets or coats that are waist or hip length (no pullovers).
Solid color unless it is an approved Ruston Junior HS jacket.
*No company logos or emblems are allowed.
*All jackets/coats will be kept in the student lockers during class time.

SHOES/SOCKS

Closed toed shoes including leather shoes, tennis shoes, etc.
*Shoes must be laced or securely fastened at all times.
Solid matching colored socks (or white) with no logos, emblems, or stripes.
*Socks must be visible and should cover the ankle bone.

NOT ALLOWED

Turtlenecks or sweaters
Long sleeved shirts under short sleeved shirts
Carpenter pants, hip hugger pants, “jeans style” pants
Stretch or nylon shirts, skirts, or pants
Drawstring skirts or pants
Pants, sweatpants, etc. may not be worn under skirts
No light ups or house shoes

Any other item that does not appear on the approved list or is deemed inappropriate by the school administration will not be allowed at Ruston Junior HS!
