ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PROGRAM
This program pairs businesses with public
schools in the Lincoln Parish School System. It exposes the
businesses to public education and the schools to the business
community. Business owners and employees become visible in the
schools providing an atmosphere of support by offering time and
funds to meet needs not otherwise served by the system.
Supplies, incentives, and materials are often donated. The
program also serves as the host for the annual Teacher of the
Year reception.

Project ACHIEVE
Ruston 21 First Fridays
When Danny Bell became superintendent
of Lincoln Parish schools in 2006, he had one goal at heart--strengthen our
public schools while accelerating student academics at all grade and
ability levels. Research has shown that the most successful schools not
only have solid community support, but active interest and participation
from its members. Therefore his vision included the implementation of a
critically important component—effective community partnerships. Toward
this effort, Project ACHIEVE was launched. And from its beginning in
August of 2006, this new initiative has worked to promote “Accelerating
Children Higher In Educational Values Everywhere.” Coordinated within
the parish’s fourteen public schools, ACHIEVE provides a mechanism for
strategies and resources to be customized in order to meet the unique
needs of a school’s student body while positively impacting academic
achievement.
